Sit down and place both bare feet on the footpads on the device. Both feet need to be touching the pads for the Revitaliser to work and the pulses to be felt. It does not matter if your feet are larger than the footplates or if you have smaller feet and they do not cover the footplates entirely. The electrical pulses are the same for each section of the footplate so as long as your feet have good contact with the device, you will feel the pulses as normal.
